Murano and Back to Venice

Tags:

So after leaving Burano we headed to Murano.  It was getting late and things were closing there so really we just had a chance to walk through and just snap a few shots.  The old warehouses here were amazingly beautiful.  The way the glass in the warehouses was glowing by the sun.  This island is the glass blowing island.  They make beautiful glass pieces here.

Of course the canals are beautiful, with the colored housed and lots of stores lining the streets.  All of these stores has glass pieces in them though I did not take a photograph of them.  Guess I need to get better at that.

I love the old Italian lady looking out of the window contemplating what, life, dinner who knows.

We then took the ferry back to Venice as the sun was starting to go down on Murano.

As we got closer to Venice we decided not to get off at our stop but another one.  When we were her the last time we found a wine store that sold wine from a barrel.  They put the wine in a water bottle and its about two euros for a bottle.  Well we actually found this place again.  Actually, my husband spotted it and we purchased about two bottles of wine for four euro.

After having dinner we one out to St Mark’s Square.  Around the square there are musicians in the restaurants playing music.  There were probably about three of them playing and when one would stoop another one would start.  It kind of felt like battle of the bands.  After watching and listening to their beautiful music we walked back to our hotel.

I photographed a few photos while walking back of the gondolas, you can see the movement in the photo, the Bridge of Sighs at night and a canal with a leaning tower in the background.

Ok next week will be the day at the market and a trip to Lido.
