Fall Color and Stormville Antique Show and Flea Market

So I’m back in NY for my sister’s 50th birthday.  One of the things we decided to do was to go us to the Stormville Flea Market which is located in Stormville, NY this flea market has been going for 47 years.  Sitting in the car on the drive up and watching the fiery reds and crisp orange colors on the trees brought a smile to my face.  If I had not been sitting in the back seat of the car in the middle I would have been taking photos the whole way there.  I did get to take these fall colors when we stopped at the rest stop it was good to take photos without a rearview mirror in my shot at not at 60mph.

After a quick stop for breakfast, we finally arrived at the Stormville Airport Antique Show and Flea Market.  The view when we first parked was a blue sky with clouds and red and orange leaves on trees in the background.  This flea market is large and has mostly two different sections.  One is the new items and the other is the antique stuff also, as a side note they have bathrooms and food.  Of course, your new section has things for your phones, hats (some really cute hats), clothes and all kinds of things.  My sister even bought a hat for me.

There were also magazines, Lu LaRoe, belts, food and all kinds of things.  Of course, the most interesting things were the older things and the fall color.  I guess living in Florida I didn’t realize how much I had missed these colors.

Being the time of year that it is they had lots of Christmas things all over the flea market.  There were even reindeer watching us, but we were not allowed to feed them.

There were lots of things in the antique section also.  Lots of furniture and license plates, records, cars, camera gear and anything yu can imagine.  The prices were fairly reasonable.  My sister purchased a used film canon camera for 3 dollars that wasn’t working but after lots of work she did finally get the camera to work (the shutter originally would not open).

All in all, for a flea market it was pretty interesting.  There are several photo opportunities if you keep your eyes open.  Maybe if I would have lived closer I would have purchased more.  I did have my eye on some old suitcases that I would love to have turned into tables at home but getting them home would have been difficult, one of them was only one dollar.  If you find yourself in NY or anywhere near Storyville (it’s about an hour or so from The Bronx) sometime between April and November you might want to stop here.  Looks like they are typically there one weekend a month.  Their website is Stormville Flea Market and their facebook page
