So we left Venice on this day.  One thing if you are renting a car in Venice it took a while to get the rental probably over an hour between waiting for them to take our info and then waiting for the car.  So if you are on a time crunch you should try and make sure you allow for this.  Our plan was to drive to Levanto which is a town right outside of the Cinque Terre.  It was about a 4 hour drive or so through the the day we saw lots and lots of Italian Villa’s and beautiful Italian towns.  Not knowing what the 5 towns in Cinque Terre were going to be like for parking we decided to stay just outside of the 5 towns in a small town call Levanto.  

After going down a twisty turny road that scared the crap out of me at times we came the quaint town of Levanto. Levanto is just outside of the Cinque Terre.  It is one town north.  The good thing is that you could drive into the town and only one of the towns in Cinque Terre can you drive into the town.  This enabled us to drive up to the hotel and unload our luggage and walk it upstairs and then go park the car.  They had free parking but it was about 15 minutes away.  Which wasn’t a big deal.  The hotel we stayed in was called Hotel Garden.  It was very nice had a view of the beach and free breakfast in the morning. After getting to the town it was too late to go to Cinque Terre so we went out to the beach and decided to walk down it.  

On the beach there were the rock formations that people built but I’m not sure why.  Though there rock all over the place.  

This section below is where the river flows through the town and into the sea.  I decided I would put my feet in.   The water was colder than I would like and neither of us got in here.  Though my husband does later.

We then started to walk down what was once old railroad tracks that had been covered up.  This went from Levanto to Bonassola and was a fairly long walk.  Though we did not do the entire walk.  The building below looked like it some Nuns lived there.  

These were the amazing views that we saw.  Beautiful water and rocks.  Also, some more rock formations.  They love their rocks here.  We then stopped to sit down and wait for the sunset when we saw the gentleman below come out of the water with his fish for dinner I presume.  

After that we sat and watched the sunset It was beautiful and there was really nothing out there other than the sun and about two ships.
